ARE THERE OTHER APPROACHES TO BUSINESS MANAGEMENT?
REFLECT AND ACT: FROM INNER REFLECTION TO SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
—INTERTWINED JOURNEYS OF ENTREPRENEURS
Taking the time on a regular basis to slow down and reconnect with what truly matters—even in the midst of the action—does not diminish entrepreneurial spirit but can give rise to new projects, particularly those aimed at a stronger commitment to society.
Three entrepreneurs will share their experiences; they all practice meditation or yoga regularly and are closely associated with the B Corp movement, which originated in the United States and now includes thousands of companies worldwide.
This movement, whose motto is “business as a force for good,” offers both an independent certification of companies’ social commitment and a community of entrepreneurs and executives who support one another in finding ways to maximize their contribution to society while ensuring the prosperity of their businesses.
Following a public commitment by their CEOs on this issue, some major corporations, such as Danone and Unilever, are taking a very close interest in the initiative.
During the event, these three entrepreneurs will discuss the following:
- What contemplative practices can offer decision-makers (faster and more accurate decision-making, a deeper understanding of employees, a better balance between well-being and performance, and a broader and more creative vision of the business) and potential pitfalls
- How a next-generation social responsibility initiative like B Corp can also be a source of strong growth and prosperity for a company
