A Feast for the Palate: A Tasting of Exceptional Spirits at the Alter Distillery in Geneva on Thursday, November 7, 2024

A Treat for the Taste Buds: A Tasting of Exceptional Spirits at the Alter Distillery in Geneva on Thursday, November 7, 2024

LVX Geneva Dry Gin, LVX Negroni, LVX Old Fashioned … the spirits LVX Spirits hold no secrets for the thirty or so guests attending the Plaisirs & Découvertes event hosted by ASAGE on Thursday, November 7, on Rue de Bourgogne in Geneva.

Quentin Verne, the passionate and inspiring founder of the brand LVX Spirits, began by reflecting on his unconventional entrepreneurial journey.

It was while studying at the University of Manchester that Quentin discovered gin and became convinced of its potential. As the years went by, Quentin secretly distilled in makeshift labs, concocting experimental recipes and experimenting with new techniques. Upon returning to Switzerland, he began his career in finance at Mirabaud Asset Management but quickly felt the urge to make the switch to entrepreneurship. Following some inspiring encounters and training in oenology, Quentin finally took the plunge in 2019 and launched his brand with its flagship product, the LVX Geneva Dry Gin.

The alumni then had the opportunity to discover the art of enhancing aromas, which is quite similar to the craft of a perfumer. Welcomed at the Alter Distillery, they were immersed in the secrets of low-temperature distillation in this setting that blends tradition and modernity. It is indeed in this Bar | Lab—which opened in 2024—that all of LVX Spirits’ original recipes are crafted and produced by hand. Discerning connoisseurs can admire the production process while sipping a gin and tonic…

Finally, the evening wrapped up with a tasting of gin and other mixed drinks, providing an opportunity for casual conversation in a cheerful atmosphere. Judging by the cheerful smiles in the photos, it’s clear that the participants enjoyed this special experience. Fun and Discoveries 2024!

ASAGE would like to thank Quentin Verne and Jessica-Lou Shepard for their warm welcome and their generosity in sharing. This event could not have taken place without the volunteer organizing team, Christine Royer and Lionel Parthiot. Congratulations to both of them.
