When Diversity Transforms Leadership

Event Information
At the Casino de Montbenon in Lausanne, the ASAGE HR – Careers Conference brought together public officials, executives, HR professionals, entrepreneurs, and job seekers to discuss a central question: how diversity is transforming leadership practices and the organization of work today.
In a rapidly changing world, diversity—in talent, backgrounds, generations, and cultures—is no longer an option: it’s a major trend that is reshaping the day-to-day lives of teams. How can we take full advantage of it? Is it an additional constraint, or a true strength that enables us to anticipate, make decisions, and innovate?
The evening began with two interactive workshops, designed to encourage direct discussion and the sharing of experiences.
Workshop 1 – Working with Diversity on a Daily Basis
Hosted by Danielle Brault (Danielle Brault International), this workshop explored the practical realities of collaboration within teams with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Workshop 2 – A Different Approach to Entrepreneurship: Inclusion as a Model
Hosted by Yann Bucaille-Lanrezac, co-founder of Café Joyeux, and Lorraine Chastenet, International Director of Café Joyeux, this discussion illustrated how inclusion can become a powerful driver of both business and human progress.
The evening continued with a panel discussion moderated by Claire Burgy (RTS) featuring:
- Isabelle Moret, State Councilor, Head of the Department of Economy, Innovation, Employment, and Heritage
- Annick Wulf, CSS – HR Director for French-speaking Switzerland
- Cynthia Marroccu, RTS – Head of Diversity & Inclusion
- Eglantine Jamet, PhD, Co-founder and Director, Artemia Executive
- Valérie Borioli Sandoz, Head of Equality and Work-Life Balance Policy at Travail.Suisse
- Yann Bucaille-Lanrezac, Co-founder and CEO, Café Joyeux
The discussions highlighted several key ideas:
🔹 Diversity is a collective strength.
Organizational performance increasingly depends on the complementary nature of talents and career paths.
“Success comes from the group—and often from the most diverse group.”
🔹 Company culture starts with leadership
Inclusion policies only truly take shape when leadership champions and embodies them.
“Company culture always starts with the example set by leaders”
🔹Inclusion becomes a reality when it transforms practices
Recruitment, decision-making processes, work organization: inclusion cannot remain merely a principle; it must be embedded in the concrete actions of organizations.
“Inclusion becomes a reality when it is embedded in decisions, processes, and the day-to-day experiences of employees.”
The evening continued with a networking cocktail reception, providing an opportunity to continue the discussions and make new connections.
A big thank you to our partners
