This workshop will be based on a Harvard negotiation case study. You will first negotiate internally with your fellow negotiators and then externally with the negotiators from the other team. You will need to determine how much information to share and assess what level of conflict is acceptable.

At the end of the two rounds of negotiations (internal and external), you’ll be able to compare your results with those of participants who had the same role as you in another group. Then we’ll debrief in a plenary session with all participants. We will then work to identify the key lessons that can be drawn from these negotiations and how you can apply them to your professional life.

It will also be a fun way for everyone to get to know other alumni in an informal, enjoyable, and educational setting. We’ll bring together anyone interested for dinner (not included in the registration fee) after the negotiation session. You must register in advance for the negotiation session, but registration for dinner is not required. The dinner will be organized at the last minute depending on who is attending, most likely at Myako on Rue Chantepoulet, halfway between the Hotel des Bergues and Cornavin Station.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Have some practical and theoretical experience in negotiation (in particular, have taken a course in negotiation or at least read a reference book on the subject)
  • Be completely comfortable speaking English (you can negotiate in French, but the instructions are in English)
  • Be able to arrive on site no later than 5:55 p.m.

For your information, a negotiation training course costs approximately 1,000 CHF per participant.

As a member of ASAGE and the Harvard Negotiation Club, you are eligible for the following benefits:

  • Through November 30, 2016: 60 CHF (ASAGE or Harvard) or 80 CHF (others)
  • December 1 through January 15, 2017: 80 CHF (ASAGE or Harvard) or 100 CHF (others)
  • After January 15, 2017: 100 CHF (ASAGE or Harvard) or 120 CHF (others)

ASAGE and the Harvard Club are nonprofit organizations, but their rates reflect the costs associated with organization and venue reservations. We therefore encourage you to make your reservations as early as possible.

If you are unable to attend, you may have someone of your choice attend in your place.
