3rd ASAGE CAREERFAIR 2019
Sharing experiences on a major issue:
“The Search for Meaning & Business”
With a new format, the latest edition of the ASAGE Career Fair brought together more than 100 participants on April 4 at the Golf du Domaine Impérial in Gland
Bringing together 100 prominent figures and managers for roundtable discussions to get to know one another and engage in a collective reflection on the search for meaning in the workplace? Mission accomplished for thethird editionof the ASAGE Carrières Meetings, which took place over the course of an evening on April 4.
For the participants, this was not a theoretical issue to be addressed but rather a concrete and practical challenge, which everyone was eager to tackle during small-group discussions of 10 people—organized by industry sector—with leaders recognized for their career paths and innovative initiatives.
Ten sectors and fields were represented by prominent figures from a wide variety of backgrounds, all of whom were involved in the topic, both personally and through their organizations.
- Eric de Rocquigny, International Director of Operations and Business Units, Van Cleef & Arpels
- Jean-Paul Kneib, Director of the EPFL Space Center and the EPFL Astrophysics Laboratory
- Anne-Caroline Pissis-Martel, Head of the Global Fellowship Initiative and the Creative Spark at the GCSP (Geneva Center for Security Policy)
- Urs Kluser, Secretary General, UEFA Children’s Foundation
- André Delafontaine, founder of Go Beyond Investing and Excelerate Partners
- Denis Boutang, CEO, Délifrance
- Bertrand Gacon, founder of Impaakt, Head of Corporate Sustainability at Lombard Odier
- Edgar Haldimann, Smart Lab Manager, Romande Energie
- Franklin Servan Schreiber, former IOC communications director, engineer, and socially conscious writer
- Gregory Chollet, co-founder of LOYCO and head of marketing and quality.
- Laurent Tranchida, Chief Human Resources Officer at IMD Business School (Laurent is kindly facilitating the education-research roundtable)
In the opinion of the participants, “friendliness, simplicity and truthfulness of the exchanges” allowed for rich discussions as well as a connection around a common goal.
The proposals developed during the roundtable discussions involve employees equally in an individual process and the companies responsible for creating the conditions necessary for meaning to emerge.
At the end of the evening, both organizers and participants expressed a desire to take things further and continue the discussion: why not explore one or more of these topics in greater depth and consider how to put them into practice in their companies? These potential follow-up initiatives will be pursued as part of ASAGE’s career development activities.
We invite you to continue the discussion on LinkedIn and to follow the association’s other activities on the Asage website at www.asage.ch.
A collaborative project:
As with previous editions, the 2019 Rencontres were designed and organized by a project team made up of alumni from various ASAGE member associations.
