The prestigious Casino de Montreux hosted ASAGE on Wednesday, May1, 2024
What a wonderful opportunity to explore the Montreux Casino and go behind the scenes during an evening event organized by ASAGE! Eighty people—mostly alumni and their spouses—had the privilege of attending this exceptional event on Wednesday, May1, 2024, which was themed around exploring this prestigious venue.
The participants first toured the various gaming rooms, including the iconic poker room. They then attended presentations that revealed fascinating facts about the casino, its history, and its close ties to music. Did you know, for example, that it served as a concert venue for the Montreux Jazz Festival and La Rose d’Or? It’s also worth noting that its recording studio has hosted some of the world’s greatest artists, including Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, David Bowie, Chris Rea, Iggy Pop, Sting, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, B.B. King, and Marvin Gaye, to name just a few.
The economic aspect was addressed by Thomas Boltz, the Barrière Group’s Marketing Director for Switzerland, and Adrien Rodriguez, the Director of Slot Machines. In their engaging presentations, they explained to the audience how the casino operates, its evolving business model, and its impact on the local economy.
As the icing on the cake, guests were treated to a tour of the legendary “Queen: The Studio Experience” located inside the Casino Barrière. Formerly owned by the band Queen from 1979 to 1993, this recording studio has since been transformed into a permanent exhibition honoring the British band, open to the public. It faithfully chronicles one of the most significant periods in Queen’s history.
And as is tradition, the ASAGE evening continued with a cocktail reception in one of the casino’s stunning lounges, which had been reserved exclusively for the event. It was a chance for attendees to continue their conversations in a friendly atmosphere and an exceptional setting!
