Strategic Insights on Artificial Intelligence<\/h2>\r\n

On September 26, 2024, the EPFL Rolex Learning Center hosted the 8th ASAGE Career Forum, an exceptional event that brought together more than 300 participants to explore the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for organizations and the world of work.<\/p>\r\n

This 8th edition of the Rencontres was organized jointly by the ASAGE Carri\u00e8res volunteer group and the EPFL Alumni teams. The event provided an opportunity for an open and practical discussion on how companies in the region are adopting AI, as well as for sharing ideas and discussing the challenges and opportunities presented by this technology. <\/p>\r\n

The program began in the afternoon with a workshop led by R\u00e9mi Sabonnadi\u00e8re of Effixis, who captivated the 85 attendees by outlining the various stages of AI adoption in businesses. Participants learned practical strategies for effectively integrating this technology into their organizations. At the same time, music lovers and tech enthusiasts were able to take a guided tour of the EPFL Pavilions exhibition, \u201cMusica ex Machina \u2014 Machines Thinking Musically.\u201d <\/p>\r\n

The evening began with remarks by Leila Ojjeh, President of EPFL Alumni, followed by St\u00e9phane Lury, President of ASAGE, and a brief introduction by the organizing team\u2014Emmanuelle Yanguas (EPFL Alumni) and Isabelle Laugier (ASAGE Careers).<\/p>\r\n

To introduce the conference theme, Silvia Quarteroni, Chief Transformation Officer & Head of Innovation at the Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC), presented the SDSC\u2019s fascinating activities. She shared some concrete applications, as well as the limitations and challenges of AI. Among other things, Silvia concluded that the transformational capabilities of these tools are rooted in their application to business use cases specific to each organization and in their industrialization. <\/p>\r\n

The roundtable discussion, moderated by Anouch Seydtaghia<\/strong>, head of the Cyber division at LE TEMPS<\/strong>, provided an opportunity to delve deeper into the impacts of AI on organizational processes and human skills. The speakers emphasized that, while AI can automate repetitive tasks, human skills remain essential for a successful transformation. Companies such as Nestl\u00e9, which has developed its own language model, and Logitech, which integrates AI into its products and internal processes, shared their success stories and innovative approaches. <\/p>\r\n
