A Special Tour and Evening at Prangins Castle: Explore the Swiss National Museum

January 22, 2026, 18h - 22h30 Château de Prangins, Avenue Général Guiguer 3, 1197 Prangins

Event Information:

Prangins Castle, the French-speaking Swiss branch of the Swiss National Museums, will open its doors to us on Thursday, January 22, for a special evening.

Just a few minutes from Nyon, Prangins strikes a balance: it’s a vibrant place that’s deeply rooted in history. You’ll be captivated by:

– The magnificent view of Lake Geneva.

– Its castle, built in 1730 and beautifully renovated, with its French-style park and old-fashioned vegetable garden. It is worth noting that Voltaire was welcomed there while in exile.

– Its museum and permanent exhibits, which explore life in Switzerland during the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as themes related to art, culture, and society.

The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with themed guided tours, followed by a talk with the castle’s director and then a cocktail reception in the restaurant located where the 18th-century kitchens once stood.

Schedule for the evening:

6:00 p.m.: Welcome for participants

6:30 p.m.: Meeting with the Director

7:00 p.m. Themed guided tours; choose from the following 3 options:

  • The exhibition “Switzerland: What Is It?”
  • A tour of the estate, including the vegetable garden and the exhibition “Noblesse oblige! Life in a 18th-century castle”
  • Exhibition: “Indiennes: A Fabric Conquering the World”

8:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.: cocktail reception at the Château Café
